WHAT RESOTEN 10MG IS USED FOR?

it is used to treat the most severe form of acne (nodular acne)

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:

TALK TO DOCTOR

Tell your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

Are allergic to Isotretinoin or to any other ingredients of this medicine
Have mental problems, asthma or diabetes
Have liver or heart disease
Have bone loss (osteoporosis) or weak bones
Have anorexia nervosa, an eating problem where people eat too little
Have food or medicine allergies
Are undergoing cosmetic procedures to smooth your skin, including waxing, dermabrasion, or laser procedures

PREGNANCY & BREAST FEEDING

it must not be used by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. RESOTEN 10MG causes severe birth defects like deformed babies, loss of a baby before birth (miscarriage), death of the baby, and early (premature) births
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant

DRIVING & USING MACHINES

RESOTEN 10MG may decrease your ability to see in the dark
Do not drive or use machines unless you know how this medicine affects you

INTERACTIONS:

Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take including prescription and non-prescription, herbal supplements.

Especially tell your doctor if you are taking,

Vitamin A supplements
Tetracycline antibiotics
Progestin-only birth control pills
Phenytoin used to treat fits
Corticosteroid medicines

DIRECTIONS & FOR USE:

Always take RESOTEN 10MG exactly as prescribed by your doctor
The amount of RESOTEN 10MG you take has been specially chosen for you. It is based on your body weight, and may change during treatment
Swallow RESOTEN 10MG whole with a full glass of water

If you take more RESOTEN 10MG

If you take more RESOTEN 10MG, call your doctor right away

If you forget to take RESOTEN 10MG

If you miss a dose, just skip that dose. Do not take two doses at the same time

If you stop taking RESOTEN 10MG

Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor

SIDE EFFECTS OF RESOTEN 10MG:

SERIOUS

Birth defects (deformed babies), loss of a baby before birth (miscarriage), death of the baby, and early (premature) births
Serious mental health problems
Depression, psychosis (seeing or hearing things that are not real)
Suicidal thoughts
Sleep too much or have trouble sleeping
Become more irritable, angry, or aggressive than usual (for example, temper outbursts, thoughts of violence)
Increased brain pressure marked by bad headache, blurred vision, dizziness, nausea or vomiting
Seizures (convulsions)
Stroke
Muscle weakness with or without pain
Serious allergic reactions marked by hives, a swollen face or mouth, or have trouble breathing
Fever, rash, or red patches or bruises on your legs
Blood sugar problems

COMMON

Dry skin, dry eyes
Chapped lips
Dry nose that may lead to nosebleeds

What is severe nodular acne?
Severe nodular acne is when many red, swollen, tender lumps form in the skin. These can be the size of pencil erasers or larger. If untreated, nodular acne can lead to permanent scars

Store RESOTEN 10MG at room temperature (15-25°C)
Keep out of reach of children
Do not use this after the expiry date

it should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.
Take it with food, preferably at the same time each day to avoid a missed dose.
It may take several weeks for your symptoms to improve but keep taking the medicine regularly to get the most benefit. If you notice no improvement after a few weeks, see your doctor again.

most common side effects

The most common side effects include dry skin, rash, and increased liver enzymes. They are not usually serious and often disappear after getting used to the medicine but if they bother you or do not go away, tell your doctor.

it may make you more sensitive to sunlight so you should limit your exposure to the sun. It may also make your skin more fragile.
Avoid any waxing (hair removal), or laser treatments during treatment.
Additionally, it may cause dryness of the mouth, lips, and eyes so drink plenty of water and use a moisturizer.
This medicine may lead to birth defects, do consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy.

HOW RESOTEN CAPSULE WORKS

it is a derivative of vitamin A. It acts on glands (sebaceous) to reduce the production of a natural substance (sebum) that causes acne. Also, the controlled sebum production kills acne-causing bacteria. It also works as an anti-inflammatory to decrease inflammation (redness and swelling).

SAFETY ADVICE

Alcohol

Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Resoten 10 Capsule. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy

Resoten 10 Capsule is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor’s advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.

Breast feeding

Resoten 10 Capsule is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving

Resoten 10 Capsule may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

Your night vision may get worse during your treatment. This can happen suddenly. Drowsiness and dizziness have been reported very rarely. This may affect your driving ability.

Kidney

Resoten 10 Capsule is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Resoten 10 Capsule may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

If you experience excessive tiredness, puffy eyes and difficulty in urination while taking this medicine, inform your doctor and stop the therapy.

Liver

Resoten 10 Capsule is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.

WHAT IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE RESOTEN CAPSULE?

If you miss a dose of Resoten 10 Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
