WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:

Tell your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

• Are allergic to Isotretinoin or to any other ingredients of this medicine
• Have mental problems, asthma or diabetes
• Have liver or heart disease
• Have bone loss (osteoporosis) or weak bones
• Have anorexia nervosa, an eating problem where people eat too little
• Have food or medicine allergies
• Are undergoing cosmetic procedures to smooth your skin, including waxing, dermabrasion, or laser procedures

PREGNANCY & BREAST FEEDING

it must not be used by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. TRETIVA 30MG causes severe birth defects like deformed babies, loss of a baby before birth (miscarriage), death of the baby, and early (premature) births
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant

INTERACTIONS:

Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take including prescription and non-prescription, herbal supplements.

Especially tell your doctor if you are taking,

• Vitamin A supplements
• Tetracycline antibiotics
• Progestin-only birth control pills
• Phenytoin used to treat fits
• Corticosteroid medicines

Swallow TRETIVA 30MG whole with a full glass of water

If you forget to take TRETIVA 30MG

If you miss a dose, just skip that dose. Do not take two doses at the same time

If you stop taking TRETIVA 30MG

Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor

Store TRETIVA at room temperature (15-25°C)
Keep out of reach of children

Tretiva 30 Capsule belongs to a group of medicines called retinoids (vitamin A derivative). It is used to treat severe acne that has not responded to other treatments.

it should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Take it with food, preferably at the same time each day to avoid a missed dose. It may take several weeks for your symptoms to improve but keep taking the medicine regularly to get the most benefit. If you notice no improvement after a few weeks, see your doctor again.

Most common side effects

The most common side effects include dry skin, rash, and increased liver enzymes. They are not usually serious and often disappear after getting used to the medicine but if they bother you or do not go away, tell your doctor.

it may make you more sensitive to sunlight so you should limit your exposure to the sun. It may also make your skin more fragile. HOW TRETIVA SOFT GELATIN CAPSULE WORKS

it is a derivative of vitamin A. It acts on glands (sebaceous) to reduce the production of a natural substance (sebum) that causes acne. Also, the controlled sebum production kills acne-causing bacteria. It also works as an anti-inflammatory to decrease inflammation (redness and swelling).

Pregnancy

ite is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor’s advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.

Breast feeding

it is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving

Tretiva 30 Capsule may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Your night vision may get worse during your treatment. This can happen suddenly. Drowsiness and dizziness have been reported very rarely. This may affect your driving ability.

Kidney

it is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Tretiva 30 Capsule may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
If you experience excessive tiredness, puffy eyes and difficulty in urination while taking this medicine, inform your doctor and stop the therapy.

Liver

it is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.

WHAT IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE TRETIVA SOFT GELATIN CAPSULE?

If you miss a dose of Tretiva 30 Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If at all a second course is required, one should wait for at least 8 weeks after completion of the first course.
