Montair LC Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of allergic symptoms such as runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, watery eyes and congestion or stuffiness. It also reduces inflammation in the airways and make breathing easier.
montair lc tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.
The most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, dryness in the mouth, headache, skin rash, flu-like symptoms, and fatigue. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. HOW MONTAIR LC TABLET WORKS
Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Levocetirizine and Montelukast, which relieves sneezing and runny nose due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic which blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose, and improves symptoms.

Drug Warnings
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you have kidney problems, dose adjustment might be required; the doctor will do it depending upon your disease’s condition. Please inform your doctor if you have a problem passing urine and have epilepsy (fits) before starting montair lc tablet. If you are supposed to undergo skin testing, the doctor might advise you to stop taking montair lc tablet 72 hours before the test as it decreases response to skin prick test. Patients should be cautioned against getting engaged in work that required too much mental alertness, like operating machinery or driving a motor vehicle after intake of montair lc tablet.
If you experience aggression, anxiety, or depression after taking tablet, please consult your doctor immediately. It is advised to avoid contact with known allergens (allergy-causing agents) such as pollen, dust, etc. Certain food items are known to cause allergies to you. Concurrent use of tablet with alcohol or other antidepressants should be avoided to reduce your mental alertness. Even if you are asymptomatic and feel good, do not stop taking tablet as it stopping abruptly may lead to an acute attack of asthma.
Drug Interactions
- Drug-Drug Interaction: This medicine may have an interaction with other anti-allergic drugs, pain killers (ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac), blood thinners (aspirin), antifungals (fluconazole, miconazole, or voriconazole), heart medications (amiodarone).
- Drug-Food Interaction: Montair LC Tablet may interact with a multi-mineral or other herbal/ayurvedic supplements, St. John’s wort plant (used for depression). So, if you are using any of the OTC items, please tell your doctor.
- Drug-Disease Interaction: Patients affected with liver/kidney disease, epilepsy, and alcoholism should not take montair lc tablet as it has severe interaction.
