Description
Biofer XT Suspension
Biofer XT Syrup 200 ml belongs to a class of medications called ‘haematinics‘ primarily used to treat anaemia (lack of blood) that occurs mainly due to poor diet, poor absorption of food, or increased folate use in the body (in pregnancy).
Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells for carrying adequate oxygen required to various body tissues.
Biofer XT Syrup 200 ml is a combination of two drugs: Ferrous ascorbate (iron supplement) and folic acid (a form of vitamin B9).
Syrup 200 ml works by increasing red blood cells (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBC is produced in the body, so that body’s each tissue gets sufficient supply of oxygen.
Take Syrup 200 ml as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Syrup 200 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience vomiting, nausea, stomach upset or dark coloured stool.
Most of these side effects of Syrup 200 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Biofer XT Syrup 200 ml or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor before using Biofer XT Syrup 200 ml. Syrup 200 ml should be used with caution in children and only if prescribed by a doctor.
