Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

Are allergic to lignocaine (lidocaine) or prilocaine, other similar local anaesthetics or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
Have an itchy skin condition called ?atopic dermatitis? or any other skin conditions

INTERACTIONS

Tell your doctor if you or your child have recently used or been given any other topical medicines

DIRECTIONS & FOR USE

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or nurse have told you
PRILOX should be used on the genitals only by a doctor or nurse
When PRILOX is used on leg ulcers, a doctor or nurse should supervise its use
Do not use PRILOX on the following areas

Cuts, grazes or wounds, excluding leg ulcers
Where there is a skin rash or eczema
In or near the eyes
Inside the nose, ear or mouth
In the back passage (anus)
On the genitals of children
If you use more PRILOX

If you use more PRILOX talk to your doctor straight away, even if you do not feel any symptoms

STORAGE

Keep this medicine out of reach of children
Store at room temperature
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date

PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

Prilox Cream is a combination of two local anesthetic medicines, that helps to numb the area where it is applied. It is used on normal or unbroken skin to prevent pain before certain procedures like inserting a needle, suturing of a wound etc.

Prilox Cream works by temporarily numbing the skin and surrounding area. It should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.
This medicine is for external use only. Make sure that the affected area is clean and dry before applying this medicine.
Apply a thin layer and rub it gently to form a layer of about 2-3mm.

After that, apply an occlusive dressing to protect the area. Keep the dressing for a minimum of 2 hours before any scheduled treatment or surgery.
Avoid getting it into your eyes or mouth.

Most common side effects

The most common side effects of this medicine include application site reactions like a burning sensation, irritation, itching, redness, and rashes. However, these are usually temporary and resolve on their own. Please consult your doctor if these do not go away or bother you for a longer duration.

Prilox Cream is given by doctor or nurse during surgery and other medical and dental procedures. It works by blocking nerve signals in the brain and thus reduces pain sensation.
