WHAT IS IRBAN 5MG?

IRBAN 5MG contains Ivabradine
It works by reducing the heart rate by a few beats per minute and helps to improve the functioning of the heart

WHAT IRBAN 5MG IS USED FOR?

It is used to treat,

Symptomatic stable angina pectoris
Chronic heart failure

WARNING & PRECAUTION:

TALK TO DOCTOR

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

Are allergic to Ivabradine or to any other ingredients of this medicine
Have slow heart rate before initiation of the treatment
Are suffering from any other heart problems
Suffer from very low blood pressure
Suffer from severe liver problems or kidney problems
Have had recent stroke
Suffer from chronic eye retinal disease

PREGNANCY & BREAST FEEDING

Do not take IRBAN 5MG if you are pregnant or are planning to have a baby or breast feeding
Ask for advice to your doctor before taking this medicine

CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS

IRBAN 5MG is not intended for use in children and adolescents

DRIVING & USING MACHINES

IRBAN 5MG may cause temporary brightness in the field of vision
If this happens to you, do not drive or use machines

INTERACTIONS:

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

Fluconazole (an antifungal medicine)
Rifampicin, intravenous erythromycin (an antibiotic)
Barbiturates, phenytoin (for difficult sleeping or epilepsy)
Quinidine, disopyramide (to treat heart rhythm disorders)
Bepridil (to treat angina pectoris)
Pimozide, ziprasidone, sertindole medicines to treat anxiety, schizophrenia or other psychoses
Anti-malarial medicines (such as mefloquine or halofantrine)
Pentamidine (an antiparasitic medicine)
Cisapride (against the gastro-oesophageal reflux)
Furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, indapamide (used to treat oedema, high blood pressure)

DIRECTIONS & FOR USE:

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
IRBAN 5MG should be taken during meals
If you are being treated for stable angina pectoris, chronic heart failure

The starting dose should not exceed one tablet of IRBAN 5MG 5 mg twice daily
The maintenance dose should not exceed 7.5 mg twice daily
The usual dose is one tablet in the morning and one tablet in the evening

If you are elderly your doctor may prescribe half the dose i.e., one tablet of IRBAN 5MG 2.5 mg in the morning and one tablet of IRBAN 5MG 2.5 mg in the evening

If you take more IRBAN 5MG

If you take more IRBAN 5MG than you should contact your doctor immediately

If you forget to take IRBAN 5MG

If you forget to take a dose of IRBAN 5MG, take the next dose at the usual time

Do not take a double dose to make up for the forgotten dose

If you stop taking IRBAN 5MG

Do not stop taking IRBAN 5MG without first consulting your doctor

STORAGE:

Keep this medicine out of reach of children
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
Store at room temperature (15-25°C)

it is a medicine used for the treatment of angina (heart-related chest pain) and chronic (long-term) heart failure. It makes the heart work more efficiently by lowering the heart rate. This relieves chest pain and decreases the risk of hospitalization in heart failure patients.

The dose will depend on what you are being treated for. Since the treatment for angina or heart failure is usually life-long, you should not stop using it without talking to your doctor.  It should be taken with food at the same time each day. If you take too much in one go, your heart could slow down too much and make you feel breathless or tired. If this happens, call a doctor.

The most common side effects are temporary brightness in your vision and changes to your heart function.

You may also experience uncontrolled blood pressure, headache, dizziness, and blurred vision.
Some side effects such as fainting and significant changes to your heartbeat may be very serious and may need urgent medical attention.
Avoid driving until you know how this medicine will affect you.

Do not use Tablet if you have severe liver disease, have a low resting heart rate, or a heart rhythm disorder.

This medicine is also not suitable if you have very low blood pressure and heart failure that has recently become worse.
This medicine interacts with certain other medicines used to treat high blood pressure, fungal infections, and HIV.

You should not stop taking it without your doctor’s advice, even if you feel well.

In Treatment of Heart failure

Heart failure is a condition where your heart cannot pump enough blood to the rest of your body.
It can be used in combination with other medicines to improve symptoms such as breathlessness, tiredness, and swelling and prevent heart failure from getting worse.

This will improve your quality of life, allow you to go about your daily activities more easily, and decreases the risk of hospitalization in heart failure patients.
This medicine needs to be taken regularly to be effective. Do not stop taking it until the doctor tells you so, even if you feel well.

HOW TO USE IRBAN TABLET

Breast feeding

Driving

It may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
It may cause transient luminous phenomena consisting mainly of phosphenes. The possible occurrence of such luminous phenomena should be taken into account especially when driving at night.

Kidney

It should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Irban 5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Limited information is available for use of Tablet in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver

It should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Irban 5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Irban 5mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

WHAT IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE IRBAN TABLET?

If you miss a dose of Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.
