WHAT IS DUOLUTON L?
DUOLUTON L contains levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol which belongs to a group of medicine called oral contraceptives
WHAT DUOLUTON L IS USED FOR?
It is used in preventing pregnancy
It works by inhibiting the monthly release of an egg by the ovaries and changing the mucus produced by the cervix (narrow outer end of the womb).
This slows the movement of the sperm through the mucus and through the uterus (womb)
INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you are taking,
Drugs used for epilepsy such as barbiturates (e.g., phenobarbital) and phenytoin, primidone, topiramate,carbamazepine
Certain drugs used in the treatment of tuberculosis (e.g.rifampicin, rifabutin)
Drugs used for HIV or AIDS such as ritonavir
Herbal products containing St. John?s Wort (Hypericum perforatum)
Antibiotics (e.g., penicillins, tetracyclines, for infectious diseases
Cyclosporine
Antifungals (griseofulvin)
Cholesterol-lowering drugs (e.g. clofibrate)
Antihypertensive drugs (for high blood pressure)
Antidiabetic drugs and insulin (for diabetes)
Prednisone

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you

If you take more DUOLUTON L
If you take more of this medicine, talk to your doctor or go to your nearest hospital immediately
If you forget to take DUOLUTON L
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember it, take the next dose at your regular time
If you stop taking DUOLUTON L
Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells to do so
PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
It helps to prevent the release of the egg and its fertilization by the sperm.
Duoluton L Tablet can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It should be taken as per your doctor’s advice.
You will have to take the pill on day one of your menstrual cycle and continue taking it for a whole month.
Once the pack gets over, start with a new one. If you experience vomiting within 4 hours of dose intake, take another tablet.
In case you missed your dose and you are late by 12 hours in taking the missed dose, use a condom during intercourse for a period of 2 days.

There may be ways of reducing or preventing them.
You might experience spotting or bleeding between menstrual periods or missed periods.
Consult with your doctor if this occurs frequently or persists longer.
Inform your doctor if you notice swelling and pain in your limbs, shortness of breath, chest pain, or changes in vision, as it may be a sign of a blood clot.
Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you smoke and are over 35, or if you have ever had a heart attack or have cancer of the uterus/cervix, or vagina.
