ganaton
Ganaton total capsule contains enteric-coated pantoprazole and sustained-release itopride which is used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux) and peptic ulcer disease. Pantoprazole suppresses the gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the proton-pump in parietal cell membrane which helps in the relief of acid-related indigestion and heartburn. The enteric coating given to pantoprazole resists its dissolution under acidic conditions (e.g. stomach pH) and makes it soluble at the basic conditions of the intestinal tract. Itopride belongs to the class of drugs called gastroprokinetic agent which improves the motility of gastrointestinal tract and prevent from nausea and vomiting. It activates acetylcholine release and inhibits its degradation which in turn, promotes gastric motility and accelerates gastric emptying. Sustained release of itopride helps in achieving an optimum concentration of the drug over a period of time.
This medicine should be taken once daily before meals. It should not be used in patients in whom an increase in gastrointestinal motility could be harmful, e.g. gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mechanical obstruction or perforation. click here : Ganaton
THERAPEUTIC USES OF GANATON TOTAL CAPSULE:
It is used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux) and peptic ulcer disease.
HOW GANATON TOTAL CAPSULE WORKS?
Pantoprazole exerts its stomach acid-suppressing effects by inhibiting the enzyme called (H , K )-ATPase at the secretory surface of gastric parietal cells. As a result, it provides relief of acid-related indigestion and heartburn, while itopride inhibits the enzyme called anticholinesterase and prevents the degradation of acetylcholine in the gut wall. As a result of this, the concentration of acetylcholine increases, which in turn, promotes gastric motility, increases the lower esophageal sphincter pressure, accelerates gastric emptying and improves gastro-duodenal coordination.
