WHAT IS XAMDEX?
XAMDEX contains dexmedetomidine which belongs to a class of medicines called sedatives
WHAT XAMDEX IS USED FOR?
It is used to provide sedation (a state of calm, drowsiness or sleep) for adult patients in hospital intensive care or awake sedation during different diagnostic or surgical procedures
INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you are taking,
Midazolam, propofol (help you sleep or cause sedation)
Opioids such as morphine, codeine (used to treat pain)
Anaesthetic (sevoflurane, isoflurane)

COMMON
Slow and fast heart rate
Low or high blood pressure
Diabetes
Change in breathing pattern or stopping breathing
Chest pain or heart attack
Nausea, vomiting or dry mouth
Restlessness
High temperature
UNCOMMON
Reduced heart function
Swelling of the stomach
Thirst
Low albumin level in blood
Hallucinations

Keep this medicine out of reach of children
Store at a room temperature of 15-25°C
PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Xamdex 100mcg Injection is given as an infusion (drip) into a vein under the supervision of a healthcare professional. It is important to inform your doctor if you are suffering from any medical conditions like slow heart rate, low blood pressure, neurological disorder, severe liver problems, or have ever developed a serious fever after some medicines, especially after taking anesthesia. Your doctor will monitor the cardiac and respiratory state after providing this injection.
Common side effects of this medicine include dryness in the mouth, decreased blood pressure, and slow heart rate. Consult your doctor if these side effects do not improve with time or worsen. They may be able to suggest ways to prevent or reduce the side effects.
