- Hypocalcemia (low blood calcium levels)
This medicine is used in the treatment of hypocalcemia (low level of calcium the blood).
- Renal Osteodystrophy (calcium deficiency in kidney disease)
This medicine is used to treat renal dystrophy, a bone disease characterized by low levels of calcium and phosphorus in the blood due to kidney failure.
- Hypoparathyroidism
This medicine is used in the treatment of hypoparathyroidism (low levels of parathyroid hormone) which may lead to low levels of calcium and increased levels of phosphorus in the blood.
- Secondary Hyperparathyroidism
This medicine is used in the treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism, which is an excessive secretion of parathyroid hormone in response to low blood levels of calcium in the body
Dosage
Missed Dose
Oral form: Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one. Injection: Since this medicine is usually administered by a qualified healthcare professional in the clinical/hospital setting, the likelihood of a missed dose is very low.
Overdose
Oral form: Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose. Injection: Since this medicine is administered in the hospital setting by a qualified healthcare professional, the likelihood of an overdose is very less. However, emergency medical treatment will be initiated by the doctor if an overdose is suspected.
