HOW TO USE GEMCAL TABLET

HOW GEMCAL TABLET WORKS

Gemcal Kit is a combination of four medicines: Calcitriol, Calcium Carbonate, Zinc and Risedronate which treat osteoporosis. Calcitriol is a form of vitamin D which helps your body effectively absorb Calcium Carbonate and additionally supports the muscles needed to avoid falls. Calcium Carbonate and Zinc are minerals which help build and maintain bones. Risedronate is a bisphosphonate which works by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause destruction of bone. This strengthens the bone and minimizes the risk of fractures.

No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease. However, use of Gemcal Kit is not advised in severe kidney disease patients.

Liver

Gemcal Kit is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Gemcal Kit may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

WHAT IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE GEMCAL TABLET?

If you miss a dose of Gemcal Kit, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
