EXENTA 25MG contain Eplerenone which belongs to a group of medicine called selective aldosterone blocking agents. These blocking agents works by inhibiting the action of aldosterone which controls the blood pressure and heart function. High levels of aldosterone in our body leads to heart failure. In combination with other drugs used to treat your heart failure, it is used to treat heart attack that are persistent and its mild symptoms.
It helps in preventing worsening of heart condition and reduce hospitalisations. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney, liver, heart disease. You may feel dizzy while taking this medicine. If you feel dizzy, do not drive or operate machinery. If you have liver or severe kidney disease, you may need more frequent testing of your blood potassium levels. Your physician may adjust the dose depending on the potassium levels in your blood.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS:
Dizziness:
Lie down and close the eyes, Drink plenty of water and keep hydrated.
Constipation:
Take fibre rich foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables and cereals, and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly.
Diarrhoea:
Drink lots of fluids to avoid dehydration. Avoid taking any other medicines to treat diarrhoea without speaking to a doctor.
Nausea and vomiting:
Keep try taking this medicine with, or just after, a meal or snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food.
Headache:
Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Take rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee.

EXENTA 25MG is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
BREASTFEEDING
EXENTA 25MG is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate any machine while taking this medicine it may cause dizziness.
ALCOHOL
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with EXENTA 25MG.
KIDNEY
EXENTA 25MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from active kidney diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
LIVER
