This is an antifungal antibiotic and steroid combination drug that is used against infections caused by fungus.
It comes in both oral and topical form for the treatment of infections caused by fungus. While Clotrimazole is the main anti fungal agent that prevents the growth of fungus, Bethamethasome Dipropionate is a strong corticosteroid that reduces swelling, redness, and itching associated with fungal infections.
USES OF THE DRUG:
This medicine is primarily used in the treatment of skin infections such as athlete?s foot, jock itch, ringworm, and vaginal yeast infections.
This medicine is also used for the treatment of a skin condition known as pityriasis (Tenia versicolor), a fungal infection which results in lightening or darkening of the skin, neck, chest, arms, or legs.
This medicine is suitable for adults and children above the age of 12 years.
WORKING OF THE DRUG:
This drug works by killing the fungal cell. It inhibits the synthesis of cell membrane and also disturbs its permeability. This leads to fungal cell death.

HOW MUCH TO APPLY THE DRUG?
Use Clotrimazole and Betamethasome Dipropionate antifungal medication (Candid B) strictly according to your doctor?s direction or according to the instructions on the medication label.
Do not alter the dosage unless your doctor advises you to do so.
Also, do not take this medication after the prescribed period is over. All medications come with a patient leaflet. Refer the instructions in them for detailed information on that particular medication.
HOW TO APPLY THE DRUG?
Before and after applying the lotion, wash your hands properly, unless you are using it to treat a hand infection.
Clean and dry the affected area. Apply a small amount of lotion (normally twice daily) for 2 to 4 weeks.
Do not use more than 1.5 oz of the lotion or lotion per week unless or otherwise directed by your doctor. Do not let Clotrimazole and Betamethasome Dipropionate medication into mouth, eyes, nose, or vagina.
Avoid covering the medicated area with dressing or bandages that don’t allow proper air circulation (occlusive dressings). Always store this medication in a cool and dry place.
FOR HOW LONG TO APPLY?
Use this medicine as long as the doctor tells you to take. The length of the dosage varies with the type of infection. Use the medication exactly as directed. Never use more or less of it or use it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
OVERDOSE:
An overdose of Clotrimazole and Betamethasome Dipropionate lotion is a very rare case, still if you feel any discomfort get emergency medical attention or call the doctor immediately.
MISS DOSE:
If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember. Applying too much of lotion to make up the missed one can lead to excess medication in your body which can be harmful.
SIDE EFFECTS OF THE DRUG:
Tell your doctor as soon as possible if you notice any of the following:
Itching
Numbness
Irritation
Redness
Stinging of the skin
Blister formation or crusting of the skin
Scaling of skin
Rashes
Peeling off
Burning sensation on the area applied
In above cases you must go for immediate medical help. Do not get alarmed by the list. You may /may not experience all of them. Tell your doctor immediately in the above situations.
COMMON DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Many other drugs can interact with Clotrimazole and Betamethasome Dipropionate (for example Immunosuppressants like cyclosporine, or other corticosteroids like prednisone). Let your doctor know in advance if you use any other drugs or related medical products. Never start a new medication without consulting your doctor first.
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
Also avoid tight fitting clothes or synthetic clothing
If you are using this medicine for jock itch in your feet, then wear clean cotton socks, sandals or shoes that allows proper air circulation to the affected area
