Monti FX Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of allergy symptoms such as runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and congestion or stuffiness.

Monti FX Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, skin rash, flu-like symptoms, and headache. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine may cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness.

Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Before you start taking this medicine it is important to inform your doctor if you are suffering from liver or kidney disease. You should also tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.

If you are taking it to prevent getting symptoms you should use it regularly to get the most benefit.

HOW TO USE MONTI FX TABLET

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Monti FX Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

HOW MONTI FX TABLET WORKS

Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger called leukotriene. This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms. Fexofenadine is an antiallergic which blocks the action of another chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing.

Breast feeding

Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE

Monti FX Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

CAUTION

Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
May cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.

Liver

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

WHAT IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE MONTI FX TABLET?

If you miss a dose of tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take more MONTI FX

If you take more MONTI FX, contact your doctor immediately. Symptoms of an overdose in adults are abdominal pain, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, fatigue, dry mouth, vomiting and hyperactivity

If you forget to take MONTI FX

Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Take the next dose at the usual time as prescribed by your doctor

If you stop taking MONTI FX

Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to stop your treatment
