WHAT IS CYPRODOL 4MG?

CYPRODOL 4MG contains Cyproheptadine which belongs to antiserotonergic agent

WHAT CYPRODOL 4MG IS USED FOR?

It is used to treat,

Perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis
Vasomotor rhinitis
Allergic conjunctivitis due to inhalant allergens and foods
Angioedema
Amelioration of allergic reactions to blood or plasma
Cold urticaria
Dermatographism

WARNING & PRECAUTION:

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

Are allergic (hypersensitive) to Cyproheptadine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
Have a history of bronchial asthma
Have intraocular pressure
Have hyperthyroidism
Have cardiovascular disease
Have hypertension

PREGNANCY & BREAST FEEDING

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine

CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS

CYPRODOL 4MG is recommended in children. Consult your doctor before giving this medicine to your child

INTERACTIONS:

Tell your doctor if you are taking:

MAO inhibitors
Hypnotics, sedatives, tranquilizers, antianxiety agents

DIRECTIONS & FOR USE:

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
CYPRODOL 4MG should be swallowed whole with a drink of water
Do not cut, crush or chew this medicine
The total daily dose for adults should not exceed 0.5 mg/kg/day

The therapeutic range is 4 to 20 mg a day, with most patients requiring 12 to 16 mg a day

If you take more CYPRODOL 4MG

If you take more, contact your doctor

If you forgot to take CYPRODOL 4MG

If you forget to take a dose, skip the missed dose. Take the next dose as usual. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

If you stop taking CYPRODOL 4MG

Do not stop taking your medicine unless your doctor has told you to

Keep this medicine out of reach of children
Store at room temperature (15-25°C)
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date

It helps to treat loss of appetite and improves the nutritional status.

HOW TO USE CYPRODOL TABLET

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it.
Cyprodol 4mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

HOW CYPRODOL TABLET WORKS

Cyprodol Tablet is an antihistamine medication. It blocks the action of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for inflammation, congestion, itching, and other allergic reactions.

Due to constant increased energy intake and stimulation of growth hormone secretion, it stimulates the appetite too.

SAFETY ADVICE

Alcohol

Cyprodol 4mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.

Pregnancy

Cyprodol 4mg Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breast feeding

Cyprodol Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Unless Cyprodol 4mg Tablet is used to lower the prolactin levels in the mother, it should be avoided as it might interfere with breastfeeding.

Driving

Cyprodol Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Cyprodol 4mg Tablet may cause dizziness, sedation, and hypotension in elderly patients. This may affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

Cyprodol Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Cyprodol 4mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

There is limited information available on the use of Cyprodol 4mg Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.

WHAT IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE CYPRODOL TABLET?

If you miss a dose of Cyprodol 4mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
