Topirol 100mg Tablet
TOPIROL 100MG contains Topiramate which belongs to a group of medicines called anti-epileptic medicines. It is used to treat seizures in both adults as well as in children. It can also be used to prevent migraine headaches in adults. A seizure is a sudden, uncontrollable electrical changes or disturbance in your brain.
It may cause changes in behavior, movements or feelings and in levels of consciousness. Topiramate prevents the occurrence of seizures and prevents migraine symptoms by reducing neural pathway excitability.
You might shed your weight if you use topiramate continuously. If you are losing too much weight, you should consult your doctor. You can take topiramate with or without food. Drink plenty of fluids during the day to prevent kidney stones while taking topiramate tablets.
You should avoid drinking alcohol when taking topiramate tablet. This medicine can harm an unborn baby. So, it is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Mothers who breastfeed while taking TOPIROL 100MG, must tell the doctor as soon as possible if the baby experiences anything unusual.
Topirol 100 Tablet is a medicine used to treat epilepsy (seizures) and to prevent migraines. It is also used in the treatment of Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (a rare, but severe form of epilepsy that starts in early childhood).
Topirol 100 Tablet may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time, each day. If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
Stopping the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor may cause an increased frequency of seizures. Your doctor may advise regular monitoring of serum bicarbonate levels while you are taking this medicine.
Some of the common side effects of this medicine include nausea, taste change, fatigue, diarrhea, weight loss, loss of appetite, and memory impairment. It may also cause vision problems like myopia or glaucoma, so it is important to get your eyesight checked before you start the treatment and regularly thereafter.
You may experience dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Please consult your doctor if these side effects bother you or do not go away. Read more: topirol 100 mg tab
