Elocon Cream 10gm belongs to the class of medicine called ‘potent corticosteroid’ used to reduce inflammation, redness, irritation and itchiness caused by certain skin problems and allergic symptoms of hay fever. An allergic condition is an immune system response to a foreign substance (allergens) that is not typically harmful to your body, including certain foods, pollen, or pet dander.

Many chemical messengers called histamines are released, which causes skin and other respiratory allergies with symptoms like watery eyes, itchy nose/throat/skin, redness, and inflammation. It is used to treat redness and itching caused by certain skin conditions called psoriasis or dermatitis.

Psoriasis is an autoimmune disorder that results in itchy and scaly rashes on the skin. Dermatitis is a generalised term for inflammation of the skin.

Elocon Cream 10gm contains ‘Mometasone furoate’ that blocks various chemical messengers (like histamine) involved in allergic and non-allergic mediated inflammation. Elocon Cream 10gm reduces inflammation, itchiness, and redness by preventing infection-fighting white blood cells (WBCs) from travelling to the affected area of your body.

It treats various allergy-related respiratory conditions, including allergic rhinitis (allergy symptoms with itchy/watery eyes and stuffy nose), hay fever (seasonal allergy), and allergic skin conditions psoriasis and dermatitis. It reduces the release of inflammatory mediators (chemicals that cause inflammation). When used as the topical form, it causes constriction of blood vessels decreasing the access of cells to the site of injury. The common side effects of Elocon Cream 10gm include excessive hair growth, burning, stinging, itching, loss of skin colour for topical dosage form, and nasal spray, including headaches, respiratory tract infection, sore nose, or throat.

Directions for Use

Nasal spray: Gently insert the bottle tip into the nostril. Close the other nostril that is not receiving the medication. Breathe in deeply through that nostril as you squeeze the bottle. Remove the bottle and sniff once or twice. Keep breathing deeply in a slow manner.Topical: Clean and dry the affected area. Then, apply a thin layer of the medicine to the affected area. Wash your hands before and after use.

Use the medicine as recommended by your doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose. Do not use other creams or moisturizers at the same time. Do not apply to broken skin or open wounds. Make sure that this medicine does not get into the eyes. If the medication gets accidentally into the eyes, rinse with water thoroughly.

HOW MUCH TO TAKE THE DRUG?

Use the cream, strictly according to your doctor’s direction or according to the instructions on the medication label. A pea sized amount of cream enough to apply to the whole affected area is generally advised.

Do not alter the dosage unless your doctor advises you to do so. Also, do not use this medication after the prescribed period is over. All medications come with a patient leaflet. HOW TO TAKE THE DRUG?

Before using take a skin allergy test by applying a small amount of cream on an unbroken patch of skin and check for any kind of irritation or allergy of the skin towards the product.

After the skin test wash and dry the affected area to make the infected area free of any kind of dirt. Gently rub in the medicine into the skin until it is evenly distributed. FOR HOW LONG TO TAKE?

OVERDOSE:

Chances of overdose are very less yet you may require medical help in case you fell any kind of discomfort. In such a case visit nearest healthcare center or call your doctor immediately.

MISS DOSE:

In case you forget to apply the dose, skip the dose and take the next dose on the recommended time period if it?s too late but if it?s less than 1 hour of the skipping then go and apply it. Never apply too much of the product to balance the missed dose.
