Strocit Injection
STROCIT INJECTION 4ML belongs to a group of medications called ‘psychostimulants’ used to treat stroke, head trauma or injury, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and glaucoma. A stroke occurs due to insufficient blood supply to the brain.
Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive age-related memory loss. Parkinson’s disease is a progressive brain disorder that affects movement. Glaucoma is an eye problem that occurs due to damage to the optic nerve, responsible for vision.
STROCIT INJECTION 4ML contains ‘Citicoline’, a psychostimulant or nootropic used to nourish and minimize damage to the nerve cells in various conditions associated with the brain. It increases the activity of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord).
It regenerates nerve cells by promoting the synthesis of phospholipids (forms neuronal membrane) in the brain. It improves learning, memory, judging, and thinking processes. It can improve recovery in patients with disturbance in consciousness in patients with head injury or any other problems associated with the brain and who underwent surgery.
STROCIT INJECTION 4ML is available in the form of a tablet or injection. The tablet form is swallowed as a whole; do not crush, chew, or break the tablet. A healthcare professional will administer the injection; do not self-administer.
You may experience some side effects such as gastrointestinal disturbances, including nausea, constipation or diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, blurred vision, insomnia (trouble sleeping), hypotension (decrease in blood pressure), increase or decrease in heart rate, and restlessness.
Most of these side effects do not require medical attention. However, if the symptoms persist or get worsen, consult a doctor immediately.
Before taking STROCIT INJECTION 4ML, inform your doctor if you have any known allergy to citicoline or any other ingredients present in it.
Inform your doctor if you are taking any prescription or non-prescription drugs, nutritional supplements, or herbal products. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Medicinal Benefits
STROCIT INJECTION 4ML contains ‘Citicoline,’ which belongs to the class of ‘psychostimulants.’ It is used to promote brain health. It is used to treat stroke, head injury, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and glaucoma. It protects the brain from neurotoxicity (damage to the brain).
It acts as a precursor for phospholipids (present in the outer membrane of the nerve cell) and also stimulates phospholipid synthesis in the brain. It also stimulates blood flow and oxygen consumption in the brain.
This promotes brain activity and improves cognition, memory, and thinking capabilities in patients with progressive brain disorders. It accelerates the recovery rate in patients with neurological diseases (diseases affecting the brain). Read more: strocit injection

FAQs
Q. I have been prescribed Strocit Injection for Alzheimer’s disease. What is its role, and how does it work?
Strocit Injection is a form of an essential nutrient called choline which is naturally present in the body. It protects the nerve cells in the brain from damage and also helps to repair the damaged nerve cells. Therefore, it improves learning, memory, and cognitive function (processing information or perception) in Alzheimer’s disease.
Q. Can I take alcohol during treatment with Strocit Injection?
There are no studies to determine the effect of alcohol on treatment with Strocit Injection. However, since Strocit Injection is prescribed for stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, head injury, and age-related memory impairment, it is best to avoid the consumption of alcohol.
Q. Can students take Strocit Injection to improve memory and learning?
No, students should not take Strocit Injection since studies show that Strocit Injection is effective only in age-related memory problems, memory problems associated with long-standing stroke, and in Alzheimer’s disease. Moreover, there is no data available for use of this medicine in children.
Q. What is the role of Strocit Injection in stroke?
In cases of stroke caused due to blood clots, taking Strocit Injection orally can help the patient recover completely within 3 months. Also, giving Strocit Injection either intravenously (injecting the medicine in vein directly) within 12 hours of having a stroke or daily for 7 days after the stroke can help the patient recover sooner.
