WHAT IS CARTINEX 500MG?

CARTINEX 500MG contains Ranolazine

WHAT CARTINEX 500MG IS USED FOR?

CARTINEX 500MG is used to treat chronic angina (chest pain)
It may be used with other medicines that are used for heart problems and blood pressure control

INTERACTIONS:

Tell your healthcare provider, if you take the medicines

Ketoconazole, itraconazole for fungus infection
Clarithromycin for infection
Nefazodone for depression
Nelfinavir, ritonavir, lopinavir and ritonavir, indinavir, saquinavir for HIV
Rifampin, rifabutin, rifapentine for tuberculosis (TB)
Phenobarbital, phenytoin, carbamazepine for seizures
St.John?s wort (Hypericum perforatum)
Medicines for scarring (cirrhosis) of your liver, cholesterol, diabetes, transplant and mental problems

DIRECTIONS & FOR USE:

Take CARTINEX 500MG exactly as your doctor tells you
Take this medicine by mouth, with or without food
Swallow the medicine whole
Do not crush, break, or chew CARTINEX 500MG before swallowing

If you take more CARTINEX 500MG

If you take too much CARTINEX 500MG, call your doctor, or go to the nearest emergency room right away

If you forget to take CARTINEX 500MG

If you miss a dose of CARTINEX 500MG, wait to take the next dose of CARTINEX 500MG at your regular time. Do not make up for the missed dose

If you stop taking CARTINEX 500MG

Do not stop taking CARTINEX 500MG without first consulting your doctor

STORAGE:

Store at room temperature (15-25°C)
Keep out of reach of children
Do not take this medicine after the expiry date

PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

Cartinex Tablet ER is used for the management of angina (heart-related chest pain). It helps to prevent new attacks of angina but does not stop an acute attack, once started.
It relieves chest pain by making the heart work more efficiently.

Cartinex Tablet ER should be taken in the dose as advised by your doctor, at the same time each day. It should be taken with food to avoid stomach upset.
Your doctor will decide how often you should take this medicine.

This may change from time to time depending on how well it is working. You should take this medicine regularly to get the most benefit, even if you feel fine.
It is preventing future harm. If you stop taking it, your chest pain may come back.

Alcohol

Pregnancy

Cartinex Tablet ER may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

Cartinex Tablet ER is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving

It is not known whether Cartinex Tablet ER alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney

Cartinex Tablet ER should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Cartinex Tablet ER may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Cartinex Tablet ER is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver

ER should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Cartinex Tablet ER may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Cartinex Tablet ER is not recommended in patients with moderate to severe liver disease.
