Are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
Have ever had blood clots in the past
Have had a heart attack, heart failure
Have difficulty breathing
Are smoker
Have high blood pressure or high cholesterol levels
Have a high total amount of tumor throughout the body, including your bone marrow
Have or have had neuropathy
Have or have ever had hepatitis B infection

Interactions

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

Ketoconazole (used to treat fungal infection)
Ciprofloxacin, enoxacin (used to treat infection)
Fluvoxamine (used to treat depression)

Directions & For Use

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
Do not break, open or chew this medicine
Swallow the medicine whole, preferably with water

If you take more POMALID 2MG

If you take more POMALID 2MG than you should, talk to a doctor or go to nearest hospital immediately

If you forget to take POMALID 2MG

If you forget to take POMALID 2MG on a day when you should, take your next medicine as normal the next day. Do not increase the number of medicine you take to make up for not taking POMALID 2MG the previous day

If you stop taking POMALID 2MG

Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so

Storage

Keep this medicine out of reach of children
Store at a room temperature of 15-25?C

In Multiple myeloma

If you have multiple myeloma, your body is destroying bone faster than it is being replaced. This makes bones weak and painful and more likely to break.

Pomalid 2mg Capsule may be prescribed along with other medicines. It is an important part of your treatment and increases the survival rate of people with multiple myeloma.

This medicine will kill the abnormal cells and prevent their further growth as well as spread to other parts of the body.

Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully to get the most benefit. Supplements of calcium and Vitamin D3 are also effective and may be prescribed if you do not have high blood calcium levels.

SIDE EFFECTS OF POMALID CAPSULE

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

• Fatigue
• Fever
• Bone pain
• Muscle cramp
• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Constipation
• Breathing problems
• Cough
• Decreased appetite
• Decreased white blood cell count (neutrophils)
• Low blood platelets
• Decreased white blood cell count (lymphocytes)
• Anemia (low number of red blood cells)

HOW TO USE POMALID CAPSULE

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Pomalid 2mg Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

HOW POMALID CAPSULE WORKS

Pomalid 2mg Capsule is in a class of medications called immunomodulatory agents. It works by helping the bone marrow to produce normal blood cells and by killing abnormal cells in the bone marrow.

SAFETY ADVICE

Alcohol

It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Pomalid 2mg Capsule. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy

Pomalid 2mg Capsule is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

Pomalid 2mg Capsule is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.

Driving

It is not known whether Pomalid 2mg Capsule alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney

Pomalid 2mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Pomalid 2mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

Pomalid 2mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Pomalid 2mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
