KZ contains Ketoconazole which belongs to the group of medicines called antifungals. It is used to treat infections such as athletes foot, jock itch, ringworm, and seborrhea (dry, flaking skin or dandruff).
This medicine works by binding to the fungal p450 enzymes and stops the cells making ergosterol of the cell wall which is necessary for them to grow.
Apply the medicine onto to the affected area or as directed by physician. It is for external use only. It is recommended for the use in children and adolescents. Do not take this medicine, if you have eye infections.
It should be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women, consult your doctor before taking this medicine. Tell your doctor if you are using any of the other topical medicines. The most common side effects include burning sensation, irritation and reddening of the skin.

Drug-Drug Interaction: KZ Lotion 50 ml may interact with drugs used to treat heartburn and acidity (omeprazole), immunosuppressant (cyclosporin), glucocorticoids (fluticasone, hydrocortisone), antifungal
(fluconazole), antidepressants (escitalopram), blood cholesterol-lowering medicines (atorvastatin), bronchodilators (albuterol), blood thinners (warfarin), laxative (polyethylene glycol 3350), antianxiety drug (alprazolam).
Drug-Food Interaction: KZ Lotion 50 ml may interact with caffeine-containing tea, coffee, cola and energy drinks as it may increase the adverse effects of caffeine. Do not take marijuana with KZ Lotion 50 ml as it may worsen the adverse effects of marijuana. Also, avoid consumption of alcohol with KZ Lotion 50 ml as it may increase the risk of liver damage
