Nuflucon Ear Drop 5 ml belongs to the class of medicines called ‘antifungal’ used to treat a broad range of infections caused due to fungi and yeast. A fungal infection is caused when a fungus invades and affects any part of the body, including the mouth, throat, oesophagus, lungs, bladder, genital area, and the blood.
Drop 5 ml can effectively treat fungal infections, including Vaginal Candidiasis (a vaginal yeast infection caused by Candida), urinary tract infection caused by Candida species of fungi, and cryptococcal meningitis (fungal infection of the brain and spinal cord in AIDS patients). Drop 5 ml cannot treat a viral infection like flu or a common cold.
Nuflucon Ear Drop 5 ml contains ‘fluconazole’ that kills or prevents fungi or yeast by inhibiting an enzyme in fungi responsible for its normal fat metabolism, which interferes with the formation of the fungal cell membrane. As a result, fungal or yeast cells get killed or its growth is minimized.
Drop 5 ml is available in the form of oral (tablet and suspension) and injection formulations. You should only take this drug if advised by your doctor. You can take Nuflucon Ear Drop 5 ml with or without food.
Drop 5 ml has common side effects like headache, diarrhoea, nausea, upset in stomach, dizziness, stomach pain, altered food tastes.
You seek immediate medical attention if you experience other side effects such as fever, chills, and symptoms of flu, weakness, easy bruising, seizures, skin rashes, faster or irregular heartbeat, and shortness of breath, clay-coloured stools, and jaundice.

Drop is an antifungal medication that treats ear infections. It works by killing the fungi in the ear by destroying their cell membrane.
Drop is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Wash your hands before and after applying the medicine. Hold the dropper close to the ear without touching it.
This medicine should be used regularly to get the most benefit from it. Do not stop using the medicine without a doctor consultation even if you feel better. You must consult with your doctor if the condition does not get improved within 2-4 weeks.
It may cause irritation and ear discomfort immediately following the application. However, these side effects are temporary and usually subside on their own. Inform your doctor if they persist for a longer duration. Do not use the open bottle for more than 4 weeks.
It is not likely that other medicines you take by mouth or injection will affect the way this medicine works, but talk to your doctor before using it if you have recently used another medicine that contains a steroid or had an allergic reaction to another antifungal medicine. Drug Warnings
Although there are rare cases of adverse hepatic effects during Nuflucon Ear Drop 5 ml treatment, it is advisable to check on possibilities. Severe hepatic reactions like necrosis (death of cells or tissue), clinical hepatitis (inflammation of the liver), cholestasis (reduction or blockage of bile from the liver), and sudden hepatic failure are reported during Drop 5 ml therapy.
Drop 5 ml is associated with liver toxicity, including fatalities in patients with other serious underlying diseases. Treatment with Drop 5 ml should be immediately discontinued in such cases.
Drop 5 ml may also cause heart problems (like irregular heart rhythm), so it should be used with caution in patients with heart diseases. Pregnant or lactating women should consult the doctor before taking this drug.
Drop 5 ml may not be suitable for some people who have weakened immune system, diabetes, cancer, or low blood magnesium or potassium levels.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Nuflucon Ear Drop 5 ml may interact with drugs treating mental illness (pimozide or quetiapine), anti-depressants (reboxetine), antibiotics (erythromycin), ergotamine (to treat migraine or headaches);
amiodarone (for heart problems); blood thinners like warfarin; carbamazepine (to treat epilepsy); losartan (used to treat high blood pressure); statins (to treat high levels of cholesterol); anti-diabetic drugs (metformin), and Vitamins B12, Vitamin C, and Vitamin D3.
Drug-Food Interaction: There are no studies indicating food interactions with Drop 5 ml. However, it is advised to take non-starchy vegetables and gluten-free foods and limit alcohol and caffeine intake.
Drug-Disease Interaction: Tell your doctor before taking Drop 5 ml if you have a medical history of allergic reactions to medicines, heart diseases, liver or kidney problems, blood disorders like acute porphyria, and low levels of magnesium and potassium. click here
