Cabgolin
CABGOLIN 0.5MG contains Cabergoline which belongs to a group of medicines known as prolactin inhibitors. It prevents lactation (production of milk) by decreasing the levels of a hormone known as prolactin and also used to reduce abnormal quantities of the hormone prolactin in the blood. Hyperprolactinemia is a condition of elevated prolactin levels in blood which could be physiological, pathological, or idiopathic in origin. This medicine is used to treat hyperprolactinemia (high levels of prolactin). Cabergoline is a long-acting dopamine receptor agonist with a high affinity for D2 receptors. It works by decreasing the amount of prolactin in the body, hormone that stimulates breast milk production. It stops the production of breast milk in case of stillbirth, abortion or miscarriage.
Take this medicine according to the dose and frequency as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break the medicine. Before taking this CABGOLIN 0.5MG, tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure or heart disease, pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor will monitor your blood pressure regularly while taking this medicine. It is not recommended in children and adolescents below 16 years of age. The common side effects are dizziness, headache, nausea and stomach pain.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS:
Drowsiness or dizziness:
Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.
Feeling sick (nausea) or indigestion:
Stick to simple normal meals and do not eat rich or spicy foods.
Constipation:
Add fruits, vegetables whole grains and other high-fiber foods to your normal diet.
Vomiting:
Drink clear or ice-cold drinks. Eat light, bland foods and avoid fried, greasy, or sweet foods.
Cough:
Drink fluids which helps thin the mucus in your throat. Suck on cough drops or hard candies.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
CABGOLIN 0.5MG may cause extreme drowsiness and sudden sleep onset. Do not drive or handle any machines while taking this medicine.
KIDNEY
CABGOLIN 0.5MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from active kidney diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
LIVER
CABGOLIN 0.5MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from liver function impairment or active liver diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALLERGY
Do not take if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Cabergoline or any ingredients of this medicine.
