FLUCORT H SKIN contains fluocinolone acetonide which is a steroid and reduces inflammation. It is used to treat inflammatory, itchy or allergic skin conditions. It works by activating natural substances called prostaglandins and leukotrienes in the skin to reduce swelling, redness and itching. Steroid medicines can increase the glucose (sugar) levels in your blood or urine. Tell your doctor if you have diabetes. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, inform your doctor before using this medicine, since it is not known whether this medicine will harm an unborn baby.
FLUCORT H SKIN may not be safe to breastfeed and ask your doctor about any risk. If you apply this medicine to your chest, avoid areas that may come into contact with the babys mouth. Do not use this medicine, if you have a skin condition called perioral dermatitis which is a dry sore red rash around the mouth. The most common side effects include an allergic (itchy) reaction, irritation, a worsening of acne, rosacea and dermatitis around the mouth, patches of pale skin (depigmentation) and localised increased hair growth.
